This charming half-liter Mettlach beer stein by Villeroy & Boch depicts a knight mounted on his charger enjoying a final drink before battle. The exceptionally detailed, etched decoration extends to various other colorfully rendered scenes from medieval life, including a brick tower that surmounts the pewter lid. This fine example also retains its original Greek warrior thumblift, a quality that makes this stein very desirable.
